THE HOUSE VIEW

Somebody wrote down what the firm knows so the rest of you could use it

Internal reference material exists because expertise trapped in one person's head is a liability. Writing it down forces it to be explicit, ordered and defensible — which is exactly the shape of valuable material.

HOW IT RUNS

Scope first, then review, then price

  1. 01

    Six questions

What the firm runs on. Two minutes, nothing accessed, no obligation on either side.

  2. 02

    You draw the boundary

Spaces or sections you would rather exclude stay outside the licence, agreed before signature.

  3. 03

    We review before pricing

We look at the record first. Reasoning density moves the number far more than volume does.

  4. 04

    Papered and paid

Typically $100K to $2M, agreed within a week, paid Net 30 to 60 after approval and anonymization.

WHY REFERENCE MATERIAL RATES WELL

It was written to be used, which makes it unusually clear

  • The audience is a colleague who has to act. That forces precision that client-facing material and internal shorthand both lack.
  • It is generalised. A wiki page exists because a question recurred, so the reasoning has already been abstracted from any single instance.
  • Edit history shows correction. Pages get revised when the house view moves, and the revision records why.
  • It covers the boring cases. Reference material documents routine judgement that nobody would otherwise write down.
  • SPEAK WITH A MANAGING PARTNER
